RESISTANCE Patents Of Control Lion Music (2007)
Second album from this LA outfit, a strong power metal set with intelligent thrash leanings. Think Iced Earth and 'Justice' era Metallica.
Opener "Inhumanation" features many bursts, hooks too, and solos aplenty.
The drums fluctuate from shotgun bursts to machinegun hammering.
This is a concept album, and "Ashes Of Tomorrow" reminds of Queenryche in both concept and sound (abeit beefed up), and some of the chord changes remind of Iron Maiden. If you want to compare to Judas Priest, think Ripper era heaviness with the progression of the last RH outing.
The vocals are a little rough though. At the heavier end you get the doom metal growling, at the lighter end, it's a mix of Kevin DuBrow and Krokus.
Good, but if it was a bit cleaner (the clean edges hear show the potential, this band could be excellent.
