ALPHA GALATES A Stimulus For Reason Advance Music (2007)
A strange mix this, that curiously works. Also, presented in a nice tin!
Some extreme metal bursts, roughness (especially in the vocals), mixed with prog metal.
Throw together Opeth, Tool, King Crimson, Megadeth and Roger Waters, and even a few classical arpeggios, and you get the idea.
The music is dark yet complex, and should appeal to a wide range; and if you go online you won't be able to escape them with their music being tied in with computer games (Halo 3) and online novellas etc.
The music is a little rough, bright, maybe a little much for some. Certainly thought provoking (hence the title), but the it's actually quite hard work too.
Each song is a series of movements, the piano (with its classical edges) fits in well.
Well worth checking out.
