TIGERTAILZ Thrill Pistol Sanctuary (2007)
Late 80s and Wales' TIgertailz took on the American dominated hair/glam/crap metal scene with some degree of success, releasing their second album in 1990.
This Thrill Pistol is the band's first full album since reforming in 2004, and it's surprisingly well worth a listen.
Keeping the sleaze and party sound, the opening track 'Brain The Sucker' adds a much more aggressive dimension, an excellent opener. 'Long Live The New Flesh' has some good moments but the screams sound odd and misplaced.
This kind of music was never the most technically adept, making up for the shortfall with attitude. Well now that attitude has balls. Well, more than before. There are some decent riffs that are punched through well.
The title track has the vocal harmonies in the chorus that typifies glam, bit this is more glam metal than glam rock.
Touches of AC/DC and Aerosmith too in 'She'z So Wild'.
There is a bonus disc of the band's unreleased third album Wazbones from 1991. A good part of the history and essential for fans; glam was a major casualty of the grunge movement at the time.
Still the same old sleazy rock'n'roll but with a sense of maturity too.
