THESSERA Fooled Eyes ProgRock Records (2006)

A fantastic concept here, meaningful, you will have to read the lyrics with each song.

Powerful, musically and more.

As for the music, well, opener 'Le Chef D’oeuvre' is melodic thrash prog. From then on the six piece (two guitars and a keyboard) produce power prog metal of the finest kind, full of riffs, solos and keys.

From acoustic intros to atmospheric starts, the music is heavy and well worked. Songs different enough (think nods at ballads, acoustic, blues, Brazilian, classical, fusion etc) to keep you interested.

Although the straight out jazz intro to 'Party’s On' is a little out of place, but after a minute we get more of an Angra kind of sound.

Different, perhaps a little too different.

But damn good anyway.
