JAGUAR Archive Alive Volume 1 Majestic Rock (2007)
Jaguar were one of the underrated gems from the NWoBHM era, their Power Games LP a real classic. Alongside fellow speed metallers Raven they inspired many a thrash band.
This collection of old ropey recordings, distorted demos and bootleg live tracks shows the power and speed from those early days.
We kick off with 3 of the first tracks the band recorded. Some great metal, solid vocals and from Garry Pepperd some excellent guitar work.
Sadly the sound quality on the first 2 tracks is enough to have many slinging the CD out, the but it is worth persevering. The live tracks from their 5th ever gig are better, 'Hellrisers' a real thrash.
Many of these tracks never made it to commercial release, and with track by track annotation from Pepperd, it’s a good insight, but the recording quality in places will make this of very limited appeal.
