REBEL MEETS REBEL Big Vin Records BVR0001 (2006)
This rather strange fusion combines country with extreme metal. Featuring vocalist David Allan Coe and the late guitarist Dimebag Darrell, this set was recorded between 1999 and 2003.
With guest keyboards and fiddle, you almost get a southern feel in places. Imagine if Lynyrd Skynyrd played a very heavy metal. Especially with the deep bluesy vocals.
The guitar work is excellent, and not cluttered, and the bass line actually hits some very bass notes.
Shame it took so long to get released - it's a lot better than most modern metal.
