NIGHT RANGER Midnight Madness Lemon CDLEM80 (2005)
The US band’s second album from 1983 was a definite improvement on the
previous year’s debut. More MTV metal than AOR, it’s a highly polished
commercial set with plenty of catchy melodies and even more widdly widdly
guitar.
"Why Does Love Have To Change" is a standout, and the ballad "Sister
Christian" (not a religious track) a single.
Brad Gillis and Jeff Watson share guitars, and bassist Jack Blades and
drummer Kelly Keagy share lead vocals, and Alan Gerald’s keyboards fit in
well.
This is prime period MTV material at the better end. Well packaged and quite
enjoyable.
