KAHVAS JUTE Wide Open Aztec AVSCD015 (65:56) 2006

1971 period progressive rock, featuring bassist Bob Daisley, who went on to play with Rainbow, Ozzy, Heep et al.

The music is fairly typical hard blues rock, very much influenced by the British bands of the era, with a heavy bass sound. Remastered here, it sounds good, and is well packaged.

The slower tracks come across as sludgy and over worked, but the faster tracks like She’s So Hard To Shake are excellent, with rhythm section and lead guitar sitting more comfortably.

With five live tracks added, recorded during the 2005 reformation, it’s a good listen for prog and Daisley fans.
