INCUBUS Light Grenades Sony/Epic 82876 83852-2 (2006)
New album from these alternative metallers. 'Quicksand' is a little off the wall, before we get the full-on crunchy riffery of 'A Kiss To Send Us Off'. Both guitars and vocals have bursts of shouting, giving a grunge feel.
The ballad 'Love Hurts' (not the well known hit popularised by Nazareth), is a mature song with a decent vocal range and melodic rhythm.
An almost trad metal intro to the title track before the alternative rhythms and high paced trashing come crashing in.
In their own way, the album ranges from acoustic to thrash and back again. An interesting mix. If you like alternative or just something different you’ll enjoy this.
