ANUBIS GATE A Perfect Forever
Locomotive LM189CD (2005)

This European band mix speed metal (the kind quite popular in Europe right now) with some classical and industrial influences. A popular formula that when done well is excellent. This is, however, a little more ordinary. A bright and polished production is a little too loud, although opener Sanctified does feature a neat pace change and some nice guitar touches, it is a little awkward. Throughout the album the good touches are held back by a disjointed and almost clumsy feel.

Future Without Past is a stand out track and well worth listen, with touches of Bruce Dickinson in the vocals.

Sadly some other tracks have a touch of Blaze-era Maiden.

Not without its moments, but not essential.

**½
