Total Impact are happy to announce further details of the debut single "Fight
And Survive" from Croydon based rockers Godsized. The track - originally
produced and remixed by Chris Tsangarides has been mastered at Metropolis by Ian
Cooper and is now even more storming than before.
"Fight And Survive" is released on May 28th and the band will preview the single
(and others) in a special night on May 26th at the Purple Turtle in London's
Camden.

"Deconsecrate the States"! July 2007 is sure to be the hottest on record as the

MAYHEM. The premiere, the true, the feared, the world's most powerful black
metal band will appear in select cities nation-wide.
Their long awaited new "Ordo Ad Chao" album and tour feature the return of
vocalist Attila Csihar, who sang on the band's pinnacle album, "De Mysteriis Dom

Attila has never before performed on US soil as a MAYHEM member, which makes

The Red Death and Shadow Law have finished their tracks for their upcoming 6
track split EP. This promises to provide a taster of what's to come from both
band's respective albums, a mixture of dark brooding Thrash and adrenalised
Power Metal with a tinge of brutal hardcore. Miss at your peril- watch this
space for the release date, but we're looking at July for this!
WHITECHAPEL
Whitechapel's debut masterpiece ‘The Somatic Defilement' is now finished and
ready be unleashed. With a massive touring schedule lined up for the rest of the
year this band are going to be the ones to watch in 2008. An utterly crushing
lesson in low-end brutality. Expect the album to be available for pre order from
Early June, with the release date set for July 31st.
KNIGHTS OF THE ABYSS
Knights Of The Abyss have also finished their hugely anticipated debut album
‘Juggernaut'. With a fan base growing seemingly by the second and yet another
example of a SOAR band touring their proverbial asses off, expect total and
utter carnage when the Knight's get into their stride and arrive in the UK in
August to slay you all.
THE PARTISAN TURBINE
The Partisan Turbine's self-titled debut album is currently being mixed and
mastered by Full Force in New York (Suffocation), and is set for an August
release, available for Pre order from Early July. The Turbine will be bring
their rampaging guttural Death on tour from June onwards, so be sure to catch
them and bring a clean pair of pants. You'll need them.

LIQUIDO - New single and great success in China
One of the most successful German bands of the 90ies, LIQUIDO, played three
amazing live shows in Peking! They played at the Midi Festival in front of more
than 20.000 people!
The band was invited from the Goethe Institute to play two more club shows and

THERION - Split ways with singer Mats Leven
This is shocking news for all THERION fans - the masters of Opera Metal have
recently announced a significant change in the band camp. From Wacken Open Air
and onwards, Mats Levén will no longer be singing with the band!
"It was a decision taken by the whole band in discussion with Mats. This change
of line up is on friendly terms and the remaining shows before Wacken will be
performed with the same energy and passion as if nothing had happened", the band
promises.
"There are no bad feelings. THERION will continue to develop even
further into the direction we set on the last tour and Mats will focus on his
new projects." Of course, mastermind Christofer Johnsson has already found a
suitable replacement. "The new guy will be Thomas Vikström. He is probably most
known in the metal world for singing on a CANDLEMASS album ('Chapter VI'). His
great vocal abilities will for sure be more known at least among the THERION
fans after the tour."
BRAINSTORM to release double DVD
Metal Blade will release the first ever BRAINSTORM DVD "Honey From The B's (Beasting
Around The Bush)" on the 29th of June (Germany/Austria/Switzerland/Italy) / 2nd
of July (rest of Europe). The box set will be released in digipack format with a
special metal effect!

CATARACT to play Greenfield Open Air
Now it's official! Great news for us, bad news for the faint-hearted. CATARACT
will definitely play this year's Greenfield fest in Interlaken, Switzerland!
After Gränichen this is the second time we are playing an event like this in
Switzerland and boy it's the big one!
To avoid any confusion, we also have a
show announced in Trier on that day and we are currently sorting this out as we
plan to play both shows, which will be another first for us.
If anyone wants to
sponsor us a helicopter, just write us an email, we will probably accept it! We
will be appearing quite early on the tent stage (check

) and after the show head off to Trier to play the ultimate Summer Blast Fest,
so as long as we don't announce something different here, both shows are
happening.
Our show in Kufstein, Austria was killer by the way, some of the kindest people
we've ever met - offering us beer on stage while we played haha! So cheers to

Burn) will be handling mixing duties. Bassist Derek Harn states:
"We are stoked to be collaborating with the aural assault team of Steve Carter,

"Cursed Earth Tour" with Municipal Waste and Lyzanxia, having a great time on

Sweden rocks!
CLAWFINGER win Jägermeister Rock:Liga season 2006/07
After a four hours Rock marathon in the sold out Kesselhaus in Berlin, Germany,
the decision was made in the early hours of May 20th: The audience declared
CLAWFINGER the "JägerMeister 2007" by giving the loudest applause.
The result
was actually more than close, as the winners only got 0,1 decibel more than
second-placed act kiD Alex & The Sickboys. Title holders Deichkind achieved
position three, with French band Hushpuppies joining on fourth position. For
CLAWFINGER, the victory is a double comeback as they'll also release their new
album soon - "Life Will Kill You" is scheduled to hit the stores on July 27th.
Retrospect: In November 2006, twelve bands started the competition for the
JägerMeister championship shield. During 20 concerts all over Germany, they
fought sudorific battles for scores and goals. Four "teams" qualified for the
final. Packed venues, thrilled fans and bands convinced by the idea about &
around the Jägermeister Rock:Liga made the decision easy: There will be another
Rock:Liga for the season 2007/08!

AS I LAY DYING announce new album title
San Diego metal outfit AS I LAY DYING has set "An Ocean Between Us" as the title
of its highly-anticipated follow up to 2005's "Shadows Are Security".
The majority of "An Ocean Between Us" was recorded at vocalist Tim Lambesis'
home studio, aptly named Lambesis Studio, in San Diego, California. Adam
Dutkiewicz (UNDEROATH, ALL THAT REMAINS, THE ACACIA STRAIN) of KILLSWITCH ENGAGE
collaborated with AS I LAY DYING on all recording and production duties and
Colin Richardson (MACHINE HEAD, SLIPKNOT) will be overseeing the final mix.
Songtitles set to appear on the CD include "Separation", "Nothing Left", "Within
Destruction" and title track, "An Ocean Between Us".
In other news, AS I LAY DYING has officially announced the addition of bassist
Josh Gilbert to the group's ranks. Josh joins the band from THIS ENDEARING, a
local group in his hometown of Birmingham, Alabama. "Based on hearing Josh's
previous band, we knew he was a great bass player and singer," says Lambesis.
"But when he came out to San Diego to try out and rehearse with us, he ended up
exceeding our expectations. Shortly after the try out we invited him to come
back and fill in for us on our January U.K. tour. That tour really solidified
the fact that Josh is the right guy for us."

CANNIBAL CORPSE to enter studio until next summer
CANNIBAL CORPSE bassist Alex Webster recently did an interview for About Heavy

About Heavy Metal: What's your timetable for the next CANNIBAL CORPSE studio
album?
Alex Webster: "I've already started writing riffs to get ahead of the game. Our
tour cycle for this album has been longer than usual. Normally we would already
be writing a new album around now. But we're still going to be touring for this
record until October. We're doing another U.S. tour in September and October.
We're doing some shows in Brazil after that tour. We have a lot going on until
October. November is probably when we'll get serious about the writing. We'll
bring songs in starting in December or January to start working on them
together. We would like to be recording no later than the summer of 2008 so we
can get the album out by the end of 2008 or the beginning of 2009."

POWERWOLF drummer in hospital
All those who were at Saarstahl Metal Festvial yesterday probably have
recognised that the wolves had to perform without Stefane Funebre. Stefane has
been brought to hospital on Wednesday evening and it was impossible for him to
play that show.
Thanks to the unbelievable replacement drummer Mr. Tom Firespider we didn't have to cancel the show, and played an improvised set after
just two short rehearsals together. Thanks to the fantastic audience and the
many wolfmaniacs who were there it was a strange and chaotic, but great show
anyway. We will keep you posted about Stefane's condition as soon as we have any
news.

HIMSA - post second video update from the studio
HIMSA are close to completing the recording process for their highly anticipated
Century Media Records debut. The group recently wrapped up the drums, bass and
guitars tracks with Steve Carter (who produced the "Courting Tragedy and
Disaster" album) and are currently recording vocals with Devin Townsend (Lamb of

Obituary finalise album title – return from successful tour of Australia
London: Obituary have confirmed Xecutioner's Return as the title for their
forthcoming album. The album's release date has been pushed forward to August 28
from the earlier announced September 11 date. The band is finalising US touring
plans now that will kick off in early September. Full tour details to be
announced shortly.
Vocalist John Tardy comments about the band's recent trip to Australia, "it took
us over 20 years to get to Australia, but we finally made it and had a great
time. The shows were really great and I know our fans there waited a long time
for this so it was nice to finally get down there."
The band is working with artist Andreas Marshall for the cover art for
Xecutioner's Return. Marshall has worked with the band for The End Complete and
their most recent record Frozen in Time. Tracking of the record has now been
completed with mixing and mastering now on schedule in the coming weeks.

As you all know, in March, Doro Pesch performed the Warlock classic "All We Are"
live on Pro 7 TV as the entrance music for the female boxing world champion

NIGHTWISH - Announce new vocalist
An era in Nightwish's history came to its end in October 2005, and now in 2007,
it's time to start a new one! The new vocalist of Nightwish has been the source
of a lot of speculation over the past year and a half - but now all the
speculations can end. After going through over 2000 applications, Nightwish has
now chosen their new frontwoman!
She's Swedish, her vocal talent and lovely personality made a lasting impression
on Nightwish's members upon her very first visit to Finland, and her name is:
ANETTE OLZON
Anette grew up in a very musical family, and she's been performing and singing
all her life. She has also studied music and performing at the Göteborg
Balettakademie, Copenhagen Conservatory and Malmö Music University. Anette lives
in Katrineholm, Sweden.

CELTIC FROST – NEWS
As we are preparing to write the last chapter of the "Monotheist" tour by
playing our first ever concerts in Australia and appearing yet again at various
festivals across Europe this summer, it is time to reflect on the events of the
past months.
Celtic Frost's most recent show, on May 20, 2007, in Athens, Greece, was the
115th concert of the "Monotheist" tour. Since May 29, 2006, the date of
Celtic Frost's first concert in 16 years, we played Europe's most significant
metal festivals and then crossed the Atlantic to perform 46 shows in the US and
Canada, making this the most extensive tour of North America in Celtic Frost's
history.
This was followed, in January 2007, by our first concerts in Japan and, in March
and April, by our most comprehensive tour of Europe so far. We then returned to
the United States for a further 25 concerts in April and May, this time as
special guests to Type O Negative, taking the total number of concerts played by
Celtic Frost in North America since September of last year to 71. Celtic Frost
then returned to Europe to play two further concerts in Greece.
The reactions we encountered during almost all of these shows were
overwhelmingly positive. There were great many concerts, which can only be
described as truly magic.
We owe our audiences immense gratitude, for it is them
who have made this huge undertaking, and, indeed, the return of Celtic Frost,
possible in the first place.
We feel deeply honoured to find ourselves in their
circle. Much gratitude and respect are also due to Type O Negative and their
crew for both their friendship and the amazingly generous treatment extended to
us.

BLOOD RED THRONE announce New Album 'Come Death'
Norwegian death metallers BLOOD RED THRONE have set "Come Death" as the title of
their new album, due later in the year via Earache Records.
The CD was recorded
at Dub Studios in Norway and was mixed by Valle Adzic.
Mastering duties were handled by Dragan T. According to a press release, the
album contains nine songs of BLOOD RED THRONE's unique blend of groovy,
aggressive and technical death metal. Song titles set to appear on the CD
include "Come Death", "Taste of God", "Rebirth in Blood", "Slaying the Lamb" and
"Deranged Assassin".
BLOOD RED THRONE's fourth studio album will be the group's first to feature new
members Anders Haave (drums) and Vald (vocals).
"This time, we aim for a more classic death metal sound, ala GORGUTS 'Considered
Dead' / SUFFOCATION 'Despise the Sun' kind of sound," the ban previously said.
"We have grown tired with the over-produced and fully triggered drum kits that
so many bands use today, besides we have taken slightly new direction with our
music and the analog and dynamic sound fits the music better. We have also
chosen a different approach to the recording process of the instruments."
BLOOD RED THRONE is in the process of booking gigs in support of the upcoming
album, with three festival appearances already confirmed. More information will

Gary Holt will release his first-ever instructional DVD, A Lesson in Guitar
Violence, through Zaentz.
Holt previously stated about the upcoming DVD, "I am planning on focusing on
rhythm technique, some lead chops, and going over the correct way to play some
of the EXODUS riffs. I feel there are enough straight shred things out there, so
I want to do something as bit different. And of course I will make it funny as
hell!"
Zaentz Records is the new label formed by Steven Warner (EXODUS' manager) and
partner Jonnie Zaentz (son of Saul Zaentz, Fantasy Records co-founder). Zaentz
is an independent artist-friendly upstart label that features an in-house,
state-of-the-art-recording facility.
EXODUS recently announced the return of drummer Tom Hunting to the group's
ranks. "It was always understood that when and if Tom was ever ready to resume
his drumming duties for the band, his seat would be waiting," Holt said in a
statement. "Paul [Bostaph] always knew this, and was the first to say it upon
joining the band. Paul and Tom have always been good friends and we, as a band,
cannot thank Paul enough for his services on 'Shovel Headed Kill Machine' and
all the subsequent tours he did to support that album. We had a great time and
kicked many a**es along the way."
