THE BLACK DAHLIA
MURDER video podcasts to be featured exclusively in Zune Marketplace and on
Zune.net
Zune recently sent a
video crew out to shadow the guys in THE BLACK DAHILA MURDER on the New York
City stop of their current US headlining tour. Zune’s video crew was on a
mission to capture a day in the life of one of metal’s most entertaining bands,
and that they did.
Follow along as Trevor, Brian, and Shannon make stops at tour sponsors Metal
Maniacs offices for a roof top interview, Fangoria Magazine’s offices to sit
down and talk horror movies, and run amuck in New York City. In the mix of it
all is live footage from the show that night at BB King’s, backstage interviews,
and Trevor and Bart heading out to the streets to talk to their rabid fans.
There will be a total of six 3 minute exclusive ‘behind the scenes’ video
podcasts, all filmed in New York City on January 16th 2008, available only
through Zune Marketplace and Zune.net.
“It’s great to get the opportunity to work with The Black Dahlia Murder and
Metal Blade. We’re all huge music fans here and do everything we can to help
people discover great music and to share the experience with their friends,”
said Richard Winn from Zune.
The first of 6 video podcasts featuring THE BLACK DAHILA MURDER is available now

SOILENT GREEN reveal front art and
tracklisting for new album
Southern sludge
grind-metallers SOILENT GREEN will release their new album, "Inevitable Collapse
in the Presence of Conviction", on April 18 (D/A/CH/I) / April 21 (Europe), 2008
via Metal Blade Records. The CD was helmed by Erik Rutan (Hate Eternal,
ex-Morbid Angel) at Mana Recording in St. Petersburg, Florida.
"Inevitable Collapse in the Presence of Conviction" track listing:
01. Mental Acupuncture
02. Blessed In The Arms Of Servitude
03. In The Same Breath
04. Antioxidant
05. Lovesick
06. Rock Paper Scissors
07. Superstition Aimed At One's Skull
08. For Lack Of Perfect Words
09. When All Roads Lead To Rome
10. All This Good Intention Wasted In The Wake Of Apathy
11. A Pale Horse And The Story Of The End
"It's definitely the most level-headed record we've done in a long time,"
comments guitarist Brian Patton, whose more-lethal-than-ever guitar skills add a
new dimension to the SOILENT landscape. "All the chaos we've had in the past few
years has kind of calmed down a bit."
Based loosely around the band's history of struggle and general feelings of
hopelessness and dejection and punctuated by John Van Fleet's striking cover
design, "Inevitable Collapse" is a 42 minute soundtrack to reality; Ben
Falgoust's varying vocal tones and cutting verbalization bringing its concept to
the forefront with crippling urgency.
"It's the basic idea of no hope. It's in reference to the history of SOILENT
GREEN and also just life in general," Falgoust notes of the record's unofficial
theme. "Everybody is always picturing things with a happy ending, but life's not
always like that. Every individual out there gets to a point where they feel
like they've struggled to a point and never got anything out of it. It happens
every day. That's the point of this record. Sometimes, even when you put your
all into something and work hard, things don't always work out in the end.
That's just the way life falls sometimes."
"It's a pretty heavy name," adds Patton. "I came up with it. I've been dealing
with a lot of issues in life. We've had a lot of deaths in our little circle.
Glenn (Rambo, original vocalist) passed away in the hurricane, our old bass
player ended up getting shot and you know, we've had a lot of issues with just
family. It hasn't been all peaches and cream out in this area. So it's just a
depression type theme; when you're given hope and it's taken from you. It's
pretty heavy. Ben's got a lot going on in his brain so. And I must say," he adds
with a laugh, "he makes it really hard for crowds to yell out titles of songs."
Touted as "one of the ten most important hard and heavy bands" by Rolling Stone
magazine, SOILENT GREEN has been releasing consistently brutal and groove-laden
albums since their first full-length, "Pussysoul", in 1994.
SOILENT GREEN are true road warriors and have played a countless number of shows
and toured with bands like PANTERA, CLUTCH, MORBID ANGEL, EYEHATEGOD, BRUTAL
TRUTH, ANAL C*NT, NAPALM DEATH, THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, GWAR, and ISIS, just to
name a few.

HAIL OF
BULLETS studio update
“Today we had the
first of 3 planned vocal days, and Herr van Drunen nailed 5 songs in as many
hours. You should hear the man warm up, it's quite an experience...
On many of these songs I'm hearing vocal lines for the first time, and it's
fantastic stuff. The lyrics are already quite a vivid read, but hearing them
screamed, growled and vomited is an entirely different thing! We mess around
with little timing things afterwards, but mostly these are done in one or two
whole takes.
To wrap up a long day (we did drum-editing/cleaning in the morning) our engineer
Chris cranked up the last song on the big-ass speakers (that you never use in
the studio cause they make everything sound way too good), and we just sat there
grinning like monkeys at the awesomeness pouring out. Life is good.” Ed Warby.
HAIL OF BULLETS will release their yet untitled debut album in the end of May
via Metal Blade Records!

GAMA BOMB - CITIZEN BRAIN
STUDIO UPDATE #2
Zombies, beer and thrash...just another day in the life of Ireland's own
GAMA BOMB.
The band checks in once again with another update straight from Grindstone
Studios about the recording of their
EARACHE debut, CITIZEN BRAIN (produced by
Scott Atkins):
Dispatches From The Front Pt. 2 -
Studio Report
"If making amazing albums is a crime, we're going to be sent down for life
when CITIZEN BRAIN gets
released (slated for mid-May, fact fans). Drums are
complete, as evidenced by Paul
spending his days playing Hitman with a beer,
and we're coming to the end of guitar tracking.
Luke and Domo
have been
putting in long days, scrutinizing every riff and lick with
Scott, and the
results sound amazing. Philly
is now getting into the thick of the vocal
takes, too, and is packing in some seriously balls-to-the-wall screaming in
late-night sessions. Unfortunately, he hasn't been spotted wearing
sunglasses while doing takes like Glen
Benton. A recent memo from
EARACHE
advised that 'more falsettos = better', and we're certainly going to deliver
on that.
Last week saw Tom Luchtenstein
from MUTANT and
Jamie from
Resilience Records
swing by the studio to deliver some hilariously brilliant backing vocals on
a few tunes, only to callously leave us again like the Milk Tray man in the
night. We got over it. We also got the first pencil roughs for
CITIZEN BRAIN's album cover
back from our man in New York, the brilliant
Jeff Zornow (www.myspace.com/zornow).
It looks amazing. If you see one picture of robot
arms coming out of mouths this year, make this it.
We're into the last week of recording now, and the working days are getting
longer (while the studio becomes progressively smellier and more cluttered
with crisp bags and guitar string ends), the work is getting harder, and the
alcohol consumption is leveling out to a steady 25 cases per week. We're
big and tough because we drink lots. Etcetera. Bass and lead, as well as the
rest of the vocals and backings, occupy the rest of our time here, as does
watching the 15 Italian trash cinema DVDs we got in the post this weekend.
We can highly recommend Devil Story and Cop Game to lovers of unbelievably
bad cinema.
Week Two Of CITIZEN BRAIN
In Figures:
Number of times Rats: Night Of Terror watched: 7
Pounds spent on alcohol: c.£400
Pounds spent on cheese: £15

Lee Barrett
has stepped down as bass player for To-Mera
Lee Barrett has
stepped down as bass player for To-Mera. It was a decision made at the beginning
of the year and a replacement is already in place.
“I’ve had a great
time playing with the band, but unfortunately my “real life” work dictated that
I was unable to fulfil any possible future touring or musical commitments. It
was only fair to the rest of the band that I left now rather than encounter any
potential scheduling conflicts at a later date. I shall hopefully still be
involved behind the scenes and taking care of the band’s day-to-day business as
I have been before, so I’ll still be sticking around.
Mark Harrington, also
of Demagogue (
http://www.myspace.com/thedemagogue ) , is now the new bass player, so
please wish him a warm welcome into the fold!”

CATARACT post
new song online
It's about time,
isn't it?! We've uploaded a song of our upcoming new album. Click here to check
out “The Separation Of Life And Time”:
http://www.metalblade.de This is just a glimpse on what the whole record
will sound like, we've got some amazing reviews already and we're keen on
hearing what you think about it!
We've had two killer shows last weekend, one playing the infamous and completely
packed Juze Oettingen and the other one supporting the mighty Heaven Shall Burn
in Essen! We introduced our new bass player to the audience and Nico did a great
job (we're actually happy he didn't hurt himself in the pit during Nasty), so
we're looking forward to the upcoming shows. We will add loads more next week by
the way!
Talking about it, our record release show with Requiem, Switchback and Shallow
Bloodhood is going well, we're setting up the playlist this week and we'll throw
in a bunch of our new songs to show what cataract 2008 is all about. If you
didn't know we've got a presale section on our homepage (www.cataract.cc) where
you can get tickets without any presale fee directly from yours truly! So take
the hint and use it.
We've already got some new merch, we will post pics of it in our shop soon - you
have to get the zombie shirts, it's mental! And by the way, we're selling out
our old merch, check the shop on our homepage to see what's left! later,

AUTUMN
announce Marjan Welman as new singer
Marjan Welman is the
new singer of AUTUMN. She replaces Nienke de Jong, who recently announced her
departure from the band.
Within the Dutch rock scene Marjan is considered to be a promising talent with
her warm voice and perfect timing. Her recent vocal contribution on the Ayreon
album ‘01011001’ received outstanding reviews and shows a singer who stands her
ground between a selection of highly acclaimed international vocalists.
Marjan will make her stage debut with Autumn at a number of major summer
festivals such as Wacken Open Air, Metal Gothic Palace and Summer Breeze. She
will be fully involved in the writing process of the follow up record to “My New
Time”. Marjan will also keep performing with Dutch band Elister.
The band comments the beginning of a new chapter as follows: “We are very proud
to welcome Marjan as the new singer of AUTUMN! As it wasn’t easy to fill the gap
Nienke left behind, we took our time to find the best possible replacement.
Marjan quickly became one of our favourites. She stole our hearts during the
first audition with her enthusiasm and powerful rendition of AUTUMN songs. After
auditioning some other remarkable singers, it became clear Marjan had all the
qualities we were looking for. She is one of the best-kept secrets in the Dutch
music scene and we are delighted to write the next chapter for the big AUTUMN
book with her.”
Marjan comments her engagement in AUTUMN as follows: “A little while ago, Jens
contacted me and asked if I might be interested in auditioning for AUTUMN. I was
shocked. “Who, me?” I felt honoured that they would consider me a candidate. He
sent me ‘My New Time’ from which I already heard a few songs through myspace.
After listening to the entire album once, I realized I wanted to take the
amazing opportunity that was right in front of me.
On the day of the audition, car trouble threatened to spoil the party. Luckily,
we managed to get the audition started without too much delay. After singing
away the remaining nerves I also got the chance to enjoy it all. I was struck by
the relaxed atmosphere! On my way back I could only hope that they would pick
me, and so they did... To also become a part of AUTUMN in addition to Elister
feels wonderful and I hope that we’ll do great things!”
The following statement is from Ayreon mastermind Arjen Lucassen: "I was already
impressed by the very first recording I heard of Marjan back in 2003 when I was
recruiting new talent for Ayreon. At that time she hadn't developed her own
style yet, but in the meantime she definitely has! A wonderful combination of
power and melody, excellent English pronounciation and most important of all, a
lot of attitude and emotion. And she's got the looks to go with it. I am known
to have a nose for talent, and my bet is on Marjan to be the next big thing. I
sure hope she will still be avaliable to work with me in the future!!"
Marjan's biography:
22-year-old Marjan Welman hails from Lichtenvoorde, Holland. A natural born
artist, she can’t remember a time when she wasn’t busy singing. Inspired by a
multitude of bands and artists from various genres and being very much
mood-driven when it comes to her choice of music to listen to, she has developed
into an open-minded and versatile vocalist. Marjan on her broad musical taste:
“Because of that, I love singing all kinds of music. I’d hate to restrict myself
to one particular genre.” With a smile she adds she has “... no ambitions in
country, by the way...”
Her love for singing eventually finds a focal point in the band Elister, which
she has been involved in from day one for approximately five years now.
Elister’s music is best described as a mishmash of groovy rock with a hint of
stoner. Furthermore, she’s lent her vocals to progressive rock project Elemental
Journey and the band Dialogue, to name a few. Throughout the densely populated
Dutch rock music scene, the name Marjan Welman slowly starts ringing some bells.
Fast forwarding to late 2007, she finds herself among a select group of
internationally renowned vocalists chosen to appear on Arjen Lucassen’s latest
Ayreon release, entitled ‘01011001’. Marjan: “One of my personal highlights is
being asked to sing on ‘01011001’. Arjen Lucassen has always been one of my
favourite artists and getting the chance to work with him was an unbelievable
experience for me.” Upon release, Marjan joins Lucassen to promote the album as
the sole vocalist during numerous semi-acoustic sessions.
Early 2008, opportunity knocks when Dutch rock band Autumn are looking for a new
vocalist and ask her if she’d like to audition for the job. After giving it some
thought, she gladly accepts the invitation. Marjan: “After I sang away some
remaining nerves I got the chance to enjoy it all. On my way back home I could
only hope that they would pick me, and so they did.”
With Autumn’s fourth album entering the pre-production stages soon, some major
festival appearances this Summer and new Elister recordings well on their way,
2008 promises to be a year of new challenges for Marjan. She’s looking forward
to facing them head on: “To have become a part of Autumn in addition to Elister
feels wonderful and I hope that we’ll do great things together!”

HAIL OF
BULLETS studio update
HAIL OF BULLETS, the
new band featuring GOREFEST drummer Ed Warby, THANATOS guitarists Stephan Gebédi
and Paul Baayens, former PESTILENCE/ASPHYX singer Martin Van Drunen and former
HOUWITSER bass player Theo van Eekelen, has entered Excess studios in Rotterdam,
Holland to begin recording its debut album for a May release via Metal Blade
Records.
Warby has issued the following update: "As we're entering the final stages of
recording our full length album for Metal Blade Records, we thought we'd share
some choice footage of the proceedings. First up is a four-minute glimpse of
yours truly beating the sh*t out of his drums. You can almost see that one crash
break! The song I'm doing here is one of the more brutal ones (well, they all
are, I guess), with some cool fills and stuff to spice up the umta-umta
onslaught. I think I broke an average of 3-4 sticks per song during this
session. The forests weep..."
The other video clip features a live performance in the HAIL OF BULLETS
rehearsal room recorded in December, 2007.

GOREROTTED
tribute merchandise to honour Vitek of Decapitated available
Now available is an
exclusive Vitek Tribute T Shirt commemorating the untimely passing of
Decapitated drummer Witold “Vitek” Kieltyka in 2007! Limited to 100 units, it
also commemorates the 2005 Decapitated/Gorerotted European tour, which hit 12
countries in just under 30 days!
Wilson GOREROTTED states – “I wanted to do something to mark our respect for the
time we spent with Vitek, and all of Decapitated when we toured in 2005. It was
a very important tour for us, and we have remained friends ever since. I felt
that this shirt could give metal fans something to remember Vitek, and at the
same time raise some money for the family. Vitek’s daughter was born when we
were on the road together, and hopefully this tour souvenir can provide
something for her future too”
Vogg (Decapitated) – “This is a tribute shirt for my brother Witek. This shirt
is also an expression of respect from our brothers in GOREROTTED, and a souvenir
of one of the best tours we ever did”
The shirt has been donated 100% to the band, so every penny you spend goes
directly to Vitek’s family (less shipping cost). All shirts are black short
sleeve, with white/silver print that looks killer! Available in M/L/XL, the
shirt is extremely limited to 100 units, but if it proves popular, then it may
be re-printed.
Wojtek Kieltyka, Vitek’s brother, who is dealing with this tribute states – “On
behalf of Witek’s wife and daughter, I would like to express my sincerest
gratitude and respect to everyone who will contribute to supporting his family,
and keeping the memory of his genuinely inspiring personality and amazing talent
alive by purchasing the t-shirt! ‘Nothing truly good can ever be destroyed, or
can ever die!’”

TURISAS - Lisko missing;
step in accordion player for UK TOUR
Warlord Nygard,
vocalist of Finnish battle metal warriors TURISAS, has issued the following
statement:
“We hereby announce that we have been forced to hire a step-in accordion
player to replace Lisko on all announced upcoming tourdates. We have an
important show this Friday at the Finnish Metal Expo (FIN) and two lengthy tours
in UK/Europe and USA just around the corner - but no accordion player.
The thing is, we played a cool show in Groningen, Netherlands on January 11th
and everything was cool. Then the next day, before the flight, some of us
decided to check out Amsterdam really quickly and went by train. Lisko had
behaved in a bit hazy way during the trip, but it was nothing that weird
(considering he is Lisko); however, he never showed up back at the airport. We
got an interesting phone call, where he told that due to "special" reasons he
wouldn't take the same plane. This alone was pissing us off a bit, but we
decided he could do it on his own expense. However, after returning to Finland,
despite our attempts, there has been practically no communication with the guy,
apart from a couple of interesting SMSs (so apparently he's alive): no
rehearsals, nothing. We don't even know if he's back in Finland at the moment.
This puts us in a difficult situation: with a lot of pre-arrangements like
flights and visas to be done, and with all our upcoming responsibilities we have
no other option than to release Lisko from his duties for an undetermined time
period, starting from today. Luckily for us, we already managed to get a
replacement for him on such a short notice: the step-in accordionist for the
Spring 2008 will be Netta Skog, who also helped us out with the latest European
tour in October-November. No permanent accordion player will be added to the
current line-up at this point. TURISAS also wants to point out that NO shows
will be affected by the small change in the line-up.”
So, be assured that TURISAS will lay to waste clubs in your neighbourhood from
March to May 2008! To get yourself in the right mood for such shows give
yourself your daily dose of battle metal @

With the release of
“Demon Entrails” the days of numerous sub-standard bootlegs of the classic
HELLHAMMER demos “Death Fiend”, “Triumph of Death” and “Satanic Rites” are
finally over! “Demon Entrails” has been released as an opulent oversized double
CD media-book as well as a gatefold triple vinyl album. Both versions feature a
lavish booklet and a poster. A bare-bones lower-price CD version is also
available.
To celebrate this pinnacle release a new website (http://www.demonentrails.com)
has been created where fans can order all three versions at a special price for

“Demon Entrails” has been specially re-mastered from copies of the original
master tapes under the supervision of Tom Gabriel Fischer, and the demos now

June and December of 1983. Drawing from a wealth of previously unknown
historical liner-notes material and artwork as well as plenty of unreleased
HELLHAMMER photos from 1982 to 1984, “Demon Entrails” features all lyrics and
essays detailing the individual demo recording sessions.

ABORTED - New
album contest! Deadline: This weeks Saturday
Don´t miss this great
opportunity and contribute your lyrics to the new ABORTED album. Mastermind Sven
Dé Caluwe posted the following statement:
“As usual we always want to involve the fans as closely as we can, for the
archaic abattoir we did the victim list & evidence bag, for slaughter &
apparatus we invited fans to join us in our videoshoot for the chondrin enigma.
This album should be no different, ABORTED would be nothing without the help of
the fans & that is the way it will always be. This time we thought of involving
you all in the creation of the new album! So we are launching a contest,
songwriting has been entirely done for the album & artwork is near completion.
However, we didn't finish one lyric/songtitle for one of the tracks on the new
album & this was the perfect opportunity to involve all you guys/girls in
offering us what you think could be a perfect songtitle/idea for this final
track on the new album!
send in your submissions to aborted69@gmail.com, songtitles should obviously fit
aborted & the themes we handle or something that can relate to it. If you have a
clear idea, documentation is always welcome. Also include your full name in the
email and adress.
The winner will be announced upon finishing the recordings & will be credited in
the booklet/myspace and receive a free copy of the new record.
Deadline for this is this weeks saturday at noon, so move fast if you want to be
part of the record!
cheers

MUNICIPAL WASTE - NEW INTERVIEW ON APESHIT.ORG
In a brand new interview with Apeshit.org, MUNICIPAL
WASTE's Tony Foresta and Dave Witte
talk about the making of THE ART OF PARTYING, their tour
with SUICIDAL TENDENCIES and much more!
Tony Foresta on paving the way for the reemergence of thrash:
"When we first started, it was just punks and hardcore kids, and we were the
ones with the denim vests on, the four of us. Even metal kids in general weren’t
dressing like that back then. I say “back then” like this was a long time ago.
This was like six or seven years ago. In January [2008], it’ll be seven years.
It’s weird. Kids just didn’t really do that. Now, it’s come back so much that
people aren’t embarrassed to be into thrash anymore."
Tony Foresta on the art of touring:
"Being on the road for so long between that time and now, we don’t really party
as much . The next record is going to called The Art of Not Partying. "
Tony Foresta on the band's partying image:
"That whole image, we’re going to try to stray away from that in the future just
because it’s like overshadowing what we do, what we care about…which is playing
badass thrash songs. We like to have fun too, but I don’t want that to
overshadow…I don’t want it to be some fu*king cheesy gimmick. Playing this sort
of music is really important to us."
Raise those cap brims up high and bring your dirtiest denim to mosh with

www.myspace.com/thestenchofredemption
A release date of 28th April in Europe and May 13th in the US has been set for

Lyrically fueled by Glen Benton's well documented anti-religious views, and
musically driven by drummer Steve Asheim's hyperspeed blast mania, fans can rest
easy that Deicide have not mellowed at all.
Instead, the band have delivered a bludgeoning set of tunes that should easily
cement their position at the pinnacle of the extreme Death Metal scene.
In every sense, Deicide have delivered their fastest and most extreme album
ever.
The full tracklisting for 'Till Death Us Do Part' runs as follows:
01. The Beginning of the End
02. Till Death Do Us Part
03. Hate of All Hatreds

BIOMECHANICAL - CANNIBALISED
NOW AVAILABLE IN THE U.S.
Be prepared to get blown away. Before you take your first listen of
BIOMECHANICAL's cinematic journey into sonic subspace, remember to ask
yourself one thing: Can you survive CANNIBALISED?
CANNIBALISED is not for the faint hearted. Pummeling and
relentless, this is the most complex record BIOMECHANICAL
mastermind John K has created to date. The album in many ways
reflects the character of the creator; intense and frenzied, almost
schizophrenic and yet determined and ambitious.
CANNIBALISED is the culmination of a trilogy that began
with EIGHT MOONS and continued on with THE
EMPIRES OF THE WORLDS. The limited edition version of
BIOMECHANICAL's latest magnum opus includes 4 orchestral bonus tracks
that will give your body a chance to rest, as it will no doubt have been
pummeled by the time the album is through.
Frontman John K comments:
"There are no compromises on this album. It¹s Metal without boundaries and as
much energy as we could possibly deliver."
Produced by the legendary Chris Tsangarides (JUDAS
PRIEST, THIN LIZZY, BRUCE DICKINSON),
the album showcases all of the trademark components that earned
BIOMECHANICAL rave reviews worldwide and a stellar vocal attack which
incorporates shrill high pitch vocals mixed with guttural growls,
technically flawless playing and incredible guitar solos. The new album pushes
the limits even further, with John K's film score influence
even farther in the forefront, giving the tracks a widescreen feel that really
help bring to the album a cinematic edge and depth. At the same time, this is
easily the most aggressive and confrontational album the band has yet delivered,
raging from the speakers in a multi layered scattergun approach. To say the
album is ambitious is hardly doing it justice.
The reactions to the album have been singular in their praise:
"A gloriously deranged masterpiece" - Metal Hammer (Rated 9/10)
"BIOMECHANICAL hits with such density of force and such
calculation that the listener is immediately swept away" - Corazine.com
"BIOMECHANICAL have dropped the gauntlet and are officially in
the running for album of the year in 2008." - Pivotal Rage
(Rated 5/5)

Although the band are yet confirm the title, the album will see the band attempt
to adapt their sound, welcoming a harsher and more primal element to their
already complex approach.
Guitarist/vocalist Johannes Persson comments cryptically:
?As we close the doors of the Tonteknik studio and travel into unchartered
musical ground, only one thing is sure; what will come out will have been born
from pain and violence.?
Cult of Luna?s new album is scheduled for a June release.
The band have already confirmed the following shows this year:
19.03 Oslo (NO), Sub Scene, Inferno Metal Festival
20.03 Oslo (NO), John Dee, Inferno Metal Festival

DEICIDE - NEW TRACK, "IN THE EYES OF GOD" PLAYED OVER 27,000 TIMES ON MYSPACE
Fans, foes and the curious alike have all converged onto DEICIDE's
MySpace page feverishly since Thursday, February 21 for an
opportunity to listen to a special preview of a brand new DEICIDE
track from their forthcoming album, TILL DEATH DO US PART.
The excerpt of "In The Eyes of God" has earned itself over
27,000 plays since it was put up onto the profile. The influx of traffic to the
profile had also earned the page an average of 20,000 song plays per day within
the first few days following the release of the song excerpt.
While it's only a matter of time until a full new track is posted, this excerpt
should be enough to tide over even Satan himself until TILL DEATH DO
US PART is released on April 28 in Europe and May 13 in the U.S.
To bide the time, go to
www.myspace.com/thestenchofredemption
and keep playing the brand new track, "In The Eyes of God" as
many times as it takes for it to reach a number of 666,666,666 and beyond.
TILL DEATH DO US PART is surely the most extreme release
in the band's catalogue, evolving the sound brought forth on THE
STENCH OF REDEMPTION into brand new, faster and more sinister
extremes. Keep an eye on

DEICIDE SCORES A #1 HIT WITH U.S. TROOPS
Gathered from evidence obtained through various reports, leaked interrogation
logs and the accounts of soldiers and detainees, a list of the top 24 songs
strategically used on military prisoners in Iraq was recently made public,
according to Mother Jones Magazine's website.
Among a list of such musical luminaries as EMINEM,
METALLICA and AC/DC (as well as non-luminary
Barney The Dinosaur), was DEICIDE, coming in at number
one with the song "Fu*k Your God" from 2004's SCARS
OF THE CRUCIFIX.
When word of this info first got to DEICIDE drummer,
Steve Asheim, the only thing he could really say was "It's cool. If
we're upto military standards of audio abuse, it makes me feel like
DECIDE's doing our part for the troops." Of course this moment is not
the only history that Asheim has with the armed forces. "My dad
was a marine, as were my uncle and grandfather;" says the DEICIDE
skinsman. "I didn't follow in their footsteps since I was so busy with the band
thing, but I'm glad I was eventually able to contribute somehow."
Some of the tactical circumstances where prisoners may have heard "Fu*k
Your God" include sleep deprivation and interrogation disorientation.
While some may see this information as a shock, other readers of the source
article have taken a slightly different view of the situation. Commented one
reader of the source article, "Honestly, the barney theme song
is more disturbing than DEICIDE's F**k Your God."

GAMA BOMB ISSUE 'CITIZEN
BRAIN' STUDIO REPORT PT3
Manic Irish thrash
masters Gama Bomb have completed the recording of their debut album 'Citizen
Brain' in Grindstone Studios in Suffolk with producer Scott Atkins.
Singer Philly issued this final report as the sessions drew to a close:
Studio Report 3 - The Final Chapter
Current mood: Thrashed
DISPATCHES FROM THE FRONT PT. 3
It seems like the GB boys have done nothing but inhale each others' farts in
the car for an eternity, but we have managed to make it all the way home
from deepest, darkest Suffolk at last. Thursday saw a late night of churning
out killer screams, backing vocals and bass that cleared the way for two
days' hardcore fret-spanking by the mighty Domo, who even demanded an extra
day's time to perfect his shredology. We salute him. And ourselves.
Now that we're back in our respective dens of iniquity, it's hard to believe
we've spent almost a month in the lab, stitching together such a savage
monster of an album. Scurvy, alcoholic poisoning and malnutrition may have
taken their toll, but by Friday morning we were still standing, bleary eyed
and disbelieving as we heard the best thrash for 20 years come screaming
back at us from Scott Atkins' bass woofer.
As with all the best things in life (ketchup, scabs, tortoise racing) good
things will come to those who wait: there'll be no preview for a while and
certainly no sly CD-Rs of this bad boy, but when 'Citizen Brain' drops we'll
be ready. We've discussed how the album might be received by writers,
reviewers, tastemakers and shakers a million times, but the end sum of all
this work is that we don't give a sh*t. As long as there are thrashers out
there tossing away half of their collection and replacing it with a solitary
disc of Citizen Brain, we'll be happy. That isn't too much to ask, is it?
Here's how 'Citizen Brain' finally worked out in figures:
Tracks: 15
References to brains: TBC
Instances of profanity on album: Over 30
Times Rats: Night Of Terror watched: 12
GBP spent on alcohol: ?500
Blocks of cheese: 10
We have been mostly eating: Crisps, Toast, Cheese, Bacon, Eggs, Beef,
Noodles, Soap, Whatever's Handy
Ailments / injuries accrued by bad diet / alcohol abuse / stupidity during
recording: Unexplained facial wounds, allergic reactions to permanent marker
'comedy' glasses, puncture wounds to soles of feet, acne, halitosis, skits,
skats, gripe, loss of sense of direction, e.coli, upsetness, brain death
GAMA BOMB - Faster Is Gooder
'Citizen Brain' will see a May release.
The band have confirmed UK tour dates with Exodus:
08.04.08 UK London - The Underworld
09.04.08 UK Leeds - Rio's
10.04.08 UK Ireland - Voodoo Lounge
11.04.08 UK Glasgow - Cathouse
