1. What are you currently up to? (E.g. touring/studio, etc.)
At the moment we are concentrating of completing the lineup for Galvanic
whilst finishing Pre-production for our debut album.
2. Who was/is are the biggest influences on your career? |
Difficult to choose from so many but a main influence would have to be
‘Devin Townsend’.
3. Brief history of your work to date and the style of music you play.
The past two years have focused on producing a demo CD whilst gigging and
building a fan base. Our style is unique in that we blend lots of different
metal styles into something new, hence the name Galvanic.
4. What has been the highlight(s) and lowpoint(s) of your career to date?
Since losing our original drummer James, finding a replacement has added to
the constant struggle of an unsigned metal band. Highlight would be
perfecting our style and knowing that we are producing a new and exciting
form of music in an otherwise stale and predictable genre.
5. How easy is it to get gigs and promotion?
igs are easy; sending a demo or talking to the venue usually does the job.
Promotion however is a different story. Without media backing it is
extremely difficult for bands to even let people know about upcoming gigs,
let alone get them down there to support you. This is something that affects
all unsigned bands at some stage.
6. Debut album release? How do you approach songwriting?
Hopefully our album will be released before the end of the year. With
regards to songwriting, it’s a case of whoever bringing a song, riff or just
an idea into the studio. We then work on it and change it if we feel we
needs to. Thankfully we haven’t had any major bust-ups so far.
7. Do you see the growing interest in power/doom/goth metal in UK?
To be honest, we have been so busy sorting out the world of Galvanic that we
haven’t really noticed any change. Hopefully though the interest will grow
and keep growing, allowing the public to be exposed to a wider variety of
music.
8. If you could create a fantasy band what would be the lineup and why?
Complete our lineup and iron out all the wrinkles and I would say Galvanic
would be the fantasy band for all of us.
9. What CD’s do you currently have available and where can they be purchased?
We have a very limited supply of our self-produced demo CD available at any
of our gigs. These are running out however so be quick or you will have to
wait until our debut album. MP3’s can be downloaded from the website
10. Message to your fans...
Spread the word; tell everyone about Galvanic and a very big thanks for your
support so far. |
