COVERED CALL
What are you
currently up to?
Well, we are planning the gigs for this summer/autumn right now. We also start
on new song material.
Brief history of Covered Call...
Ronny, our drummer was the one how started this band in 2006. We wanted to
create music that people know but make it in our way.
Me (Joel), Ronny
and singer Johan together with our old guitarist Ola started to write material
for the album. Further on Johan decided to leave the band (family, kids..) and
we started to look for a new singer.
Thomas Thulin joins the band playing bass
and the recording started in late 2007. Thru the record label Blistering Records
we hooked up with Thomas Vikström how decided to join Covered Call and put his
mark on the record.
Later on Ola were
replaced by Morgan Rosenquist.
Could you take us through your cracking new album album 'Money Never Sleeps'
It usually start with Ronny comes with a riff or melody, and we all build it
from there.
We like to make
music that people recognize, but with our touch.
How do you go about promoting your music? Do sites like MySpace, Facebook
etc. bring you in new fans and potentially sales? Or is it a case of having lots
of 'friends' many of whom never bother with the music?
Good question. We have our own MySpace site and get a lot of good fans from
there. People seem to like what we are doing.
Blistering Record
is doing a great job with the promotion.
We get good response from both USA and Europe.
Who are your musical influences?
We have many different influences which you can hear in our music. Van Halen,
Bon Jovi, UFO, Thin Lizzy to name a few.
How did you get your first break into the music business? What piece of
advice would you pass onto budding musicians?
"Money never sleeps" is our debut album. We wanted to make a strong first album
with great songs.
I don't know if I
am in position to make advices, but I think if you love to play your music don't
you give up!
How do you view the current rock music scene? Has there been much opportunity
for Covered Call to play live at all? Any other bands out there that you would
recommend?
The Swedish rock scene is growing bigger for each year. There are many good
bands out there playing.
Covered Call has
been busy with this debut album and everything around that. So we are planning
gigs for the future in this moment.
Any good rock 'n' roll tales to tell?
No. :
What ideally would you like to achieve by this time next year?
A good response of this album and many great gigs. We hope that we can start the
recording of the new album during next year.
What do you like doing with your spare time outside of music?
We all have families that take a lot of time. So music is our spare time. :
Message for your fans...
Covered Call want to give the fans some great shows 2008!!
