TNT A Farewell To Arms Metal Heaven (2011)
TNT are back with their third album to feature vocalist Tony Mills and their first since 2008's ‘Atlantis' which really divided the band's fans. For me that was a very good album albeit not what you'd expect from TNT in parts. Good news as well in that vocalist Tony Mills has recovered from his heart scare earlier this year.
This new album was rumoured to be a return to the band's earlier, more straight ahead, hard rocking sound. Well the rumours are true as this new album packs a powerful punch. Guitarist Ronni Le Tekro in particular whips up a storm solo wise on many songs including ‘Take It Like A Man- Woman'.
In fact there is only one ballad, ‘God Natt, Marie' allowing Tony Mills to take centre stage backed by some Queen-like harmonies.
‘Don't Misunderstand Me' and ‘Come' are massive, hook-filled tunes with plenty of hard rocking guitar. Both would doubtless sound equally as good live.
A live version of ‘Harley Davidson' makes for a welcome bonus track on the European edition of the album.
This album will certainly silence the fans bemoaning the band's output on the last two albums and for fans like me who have enjoyed these albums, this new album confirms how the band have picked themselves up from Tony Harnell's departure. Crank it up and enjoy!
