THE ANSWER, Highbury Garage, London
28 October
2011
Phil Lynott
would be proud!! Mixing influences such as Free, Led Zeppelin and Thin
Lizzy, Northern Ireland's The Answer are without a doubt the best live
band of their generation.
Like The
Black Crowes with a mammoth pair of balls, the band tore through a set
list made up of material from their three studio albums to date.
Having spent
a large amount of time on the road with AC/DC over the last couple of
years, the band have clearly benefited from the experience and frontman
Cormack Neeson worked the entire venue from the moment they took the
stage.
Newer tracks
from the recent 'Revival' album like 'One More Revival', 'Trouble' and
'Vida (I Want You)' sit well amongst the more established songs in the
set list such as 'Under The Sky', 'Preachin''. 'On and On' and 'Too Far
Gone' - we were also treated to a rousing version of Rose Tattoo's 'Rock
N Roll Outlaw'.
As a band
The Answer are musically tight, whether it be guitar playing from Paul
Mahon or the solid, dependable rhythm section of Micky Waters and James
Heatley it is all good - then you have to mention Neeson once again as
not only is he a great frontman but his harmonica skills are second to
none.
The full to capacity crowd loved every minute of this gig and the band
have promised to be back in the UK in March.
