STORMZONE Zero To Rage Steamhammer/SPV (2011)
Belfast singer Harv put together Stormzone In 2005 and their first two albums met with much acclaim. From the outset on this third album it is full on straight metal with a classic modern edge.
'Jester's Laughter' has an appropriate manic feel, and 'This Is Our Victory' is a real rocker with solid mid to high vocals and some touches of Maiden in the guitar. It has that anthemic feel of classic rock.
That contrasts well with 'Fear Hotel' with a crunchier chunky riff and a slightly doomier feel.
This is real blistering metal with a melodic feel at times and it's never overblown. The vocals are definitely out of the power / melodic rock bag and fit well, the guitar solos are just as good too.
Zero To Rage is a well crafted album that is delivered with as much class and melody as it is power, speed and all out metal.
Definitely an album to check out.
