LA GUNS Acoustic Gypsy Live (2011)
With two versions of the band touring at the moment, and no one member who has been consistent all the way through, this band were involved with the formation of G’n’R and have a minefield of line-up changes.
This album is by the Tracii Guns version of the band, the founding guitarist who has more rights to the name than most. And to lead up to the band’s 30th anniversary, we get this acoustic live album in an intimate setting.
With Jizzy Pearl on vocals, the band are tight and sound good. It’s not totally acoustic, more like three quarter acoustic but it’s melodic and not overridden by dirty rock’n’roll.
Opening with 'Chrystal Eyes', much of the band’s history is taken in. 'Decide' has a Zeppelin feel, and 'Dream Time' has a nice rock’n’roll piano.
Pretty enjoyable, well worth listening to.
