Welsh band The Storys will release their 3rd and final album, 'Luck', in June before playing a farewell gig in Swansea and going their separate ways. It is a shame as the band still sound great and the addition of Rosalie Deighton to the band has given their big sounding vocals a new side.
'Luck' continues the bands West Coast sound and as I said of last album 'Town Beyond The Trees', fans of Bon Jovi, Mr Big, The Eagles - and of a good song in general, are gonna love this CD. There is an almost summery feel to the album and at is one of those CDs that you can leave on repeat and listen to over and over.
Opening track 'Everybody Wants You To Make It' features some superb guitar work, and as with the band’s previous recordings the vocal harmonies are extremely good throughout. It’s hard to separate the highlights on 'Luck' but a few are 'Burning Sun', 'California', 'Take All The Time That You Need' and 'Long Way Up'. Interestingly, album closer 'All Inside' feels like the closing credits of a film, can this be a mere coincidence?
Hopefully, 'Luck' will do well enough to convince the band to continue working together - even if it is a couple of years down the road.
