MIM GREY Grey Matters (2010)
A new voice on the UK singer songwriter scene with Dannii Minogue good looks, a Nashville dress sense, Stetson, clingy vest, tight blue jeans and cowboy boots, and sultry vocals. Grey Matters is her debut album.
Song writing co-credits go to American lyricist Cori Josias, and the order of the day is gentle acoustic based numbers that border on a cross between The Carpenters and the more commercial / mainstream aspects of the country scene, Shania Twain for example.
There's a flurry of easy on the ear female singer songwriters emerging at the moment. Mim Grey has the looks and the vocals to match the pick of the crop. But pleasant as Grey Matters undoubtedly is, I'm not sure it's strong enough to raise her profile above her contemporaries.
