YES Topgraphy - The Yes Anthology (2-CD) Salvo (2009)
A mix of studio, live and solo classics; Yes were one of the most influential and grandiose progressive rock bands of the 70s and 80s. There was no voice higher than Jon Anderson, no keyboard rack bigger than Rick Wakeman’s, and few stage shows that could compete.
'Open Your Eyes' is a good opener, with big guitars to match the vocals and keyboards, and a live version of 'Yours Is No Disgrace' is solid, heavy and very pumped.
Most but not all of the tracks here are live, which also shows how good the band were on stage. 'Close To The Edge' and the excerpts of 'Tales From Topographic Oceans' are excellent and classic Yes.
Disc 2 features the hit 'Owner Of A Lonely Heart', and 'Roundabout' too, which will please fans.
Yes may be harder to get into, but this is a very good start.
