MOTT By Tonight: Live 1975/76 Angel Air SJPCD289 (2009)
After the demise of the legendary Mott The Hoople in 1974, Peter 'Overend' Watts, Dale Griffin and Morgan Fisher (with newbies Ray Major and Nigel Benjamin) decided to rename themselves Mott and carry on making music.
This live album collects tracks from the US (The legendary Forum in LA and Cleveland's Agora Ballroom) and Friars Club in Aylesbury and Leeds Polytechnic.
It's 12 tracks long and includes a pretty good cover of The Doors 'Love Me Two Times.' Other tracks played include a medley of 'I Don't Wanna Discuss It' and 'All The Way From Memphis' and 'She Does It.'
Considering the age of the tracks the remastering certainly helps the sound quality. As always with Angel Air releases this is great for archivists. The sleeves notes by Dale Griffin are very entertaining and shed some light on the band. Recommended.
