GEFF Land Of The Free Metal Heaven (2009)
Metal Heaven's latest signing GEFF have produced an excellent debut album with some really memorable and highly-enjoyable melodic rock tunes.
The band features some of the best and most well-known names in the Swedish rock scene: guitarist Ralf Jedestedt, singer Goran Edman, drummer Anders Johansson, bassist Per Stadin and keyboardist Mats Olausson. The production is top-notch and the performances of each musician are certainly nothing to argue against.
The catchy 'Pennywise And Pound Foolish' is a blast: it has one of the most enjoyable melodies I've heard this year. The vocal performance throughout the album is way above average and the riffs are indelible. The slower number 'Mr. Cain' is OK but it's the faster songs that really progress the album into the right direction.
From 'Xtacy' to 'Innervations' this is one thoroughly enjoyable album. Hopefully this isn't a one-off project; rumour has it they plan to make more albums. Top stuff!
