TOXIC Fear Rocksector Records (2008)
Norwegian hard rock / metal with an interesting and intelligent blend of sounds, from atmospheric to all out metal.
"Lucifer" mixes picking and riffs well, with some good layering of the backing vocals, and a nod at Megadeth and Ozzy Osbourne too.
The acoustic intro to "Live On" is almost acoustic with some strong vocals, and the sound builds to a late 70s Sabbath which works well.
The vocals have good range, are strong, although they do strain a little at the top end.
"I Am The Fire" sees guitar and bass complement each other well, at times in Iron Maiden fashion, interspersed with some rough chugging along.
The variation in some of the tracks is almost progressive metal, although the sound isn't quite as retro as the press release would have us believe.
14 enjoyable tracks with dark exploring lyrics. Should do well.
