RPWL The RPWL Experience Inside Out (2008)
The German prog rockers are back and they have chosen to follow where there musical muse takes them. Fear not though if you enjoyed their previous albums as they still have a that latter day Pink Floyd sound, not only in the musical arrangements but in vocalist/keyboards player Yogi Lang, who does sound like Dave Gilmour at times.
Ten songs in all with only the opener 'Silenced' heading towards the ten minute mark and this one has some wonderful keys and guitar passages, as well as being one of the heaviest songs the band have recorded. 'Breathe In, Breathe Out' is a lovely song - melodic chorus and haunting music, an airplay hit if ever there was one. 'Watch Myself' again sees some neat guitar/keys playing and musically reminded me of Elbow and Kino. For something much more raw try 'Choose What You Want To Look At' which has a very hard edge to the sound.
RPWL have done it again producing an album you will keep wanting to hear again and again, with enough musical variation to please the most demanding progressive rock fan! If you like late 80's/early 9's Pink Floyd then you really need to get into this band pronto.
