MEGADETH Reissues 180g vinyl, Capitol/EMI (2008)
These classic metal albums have been reissued on vinyl as part of EMI's new series of reproduced LPs, 'From the Capitol vaults'. They come in original packaging and are available for the first time in a limited run on audiophile, 180 gram vinyl.
If you're a metal nut who happens to collect LPs, you're in for a treat. The quality of these Limited Editions is outstanding. It should also be noted the artwork for all three albums is stunning.
1986s Peace Sells...But Who's Buying? was the sophomore album by the now legendary thrash band Megadeth. It was also Megadeth's first album released through Capitol Records. It's generally considered to be a defining thrash metal album; songs like 'Wake Up Dead,' 'Peace Sells' and 'I Ain't Superstitious' show the proof is in the pudding.
1990s Rust In Peace is a bonafide metal classic. 'Holy Wars...The Punishment Due', the album's opening track, is a six minute plus statement of intent; it's mesmerising in its brutality. 'Rust In Peace' was also the first Megadeth album to feature Marty Friedman and Nick Menza. It was released after the disappointing 'So Far, So Good...So What!' album so fans were pleased with the quality of this opus.
Produced by the revered Mike Clink, it was immediately hailed by critics as a classic album and won the band two Grammy nominations.
