MARTY FRIEDMAN/XHIBIT Live In Europe Mascot Records (2008)
Former Megadeth guitarist Marty Friedman has been a very busy man not only with guitar clinics worldwide but also with a successful solo career and this live CD was recorded on last year's European tour.
Unlike fellow ex-Megadeth shredder Chris Poland who went down a jazz rock route, Marty Friedman stills shreds! Many tunes like 'Elixir' and 'Anvils' are very heavy with some wonderful soloing from Marty, both sounding like Megadeth classics that never were.
Elsewhere there are some more reflective, mellow moments like 'Tibet' and 'Angel' break up the set nicely. Cool cover of 'Hound Dog' as well.
Certainly one for fans of Marty's playing and Megadeth, although being nearly all instrumental it may put off the casual fan.
