MARCELLO-VESTRY NL Distribution (2008)
Rob Marcello obviously woke up one day and believed he was in the late eighties. This release drips Dokken, Def Leppard and any late-hair metallers who can string together an anthemic chorus spiced with shred guitar.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with that, of course, and Marcello knows how to write a big chorus and his guitar work is exemplary. He's joined by singer Frank Vestry who also gives a good account of himself.
Marcello currently gigs with melodic rockers Danger Danger and is a product demonstrator for Roland/Boss. If there is one criticism of this release - there is little if any darkness. It sounds good with the sun shining and an imaginary girl/bloke on your arm but listening in the depths of winter could be quite irritating. This durability question mark is an issue, but if you are cultivating a modern-day Mullet, Marcello-Vestry is the ideal soundtrack.
