MAN Do You Like It here Now, Are You Settling In? Esoteric (2008)
Welsh rock emigrants Man had established themselves on the Continent by 1971. Nestling in the bosom of Germany in the grip of prog rock hippiedom as a popular local live act, they had even picked up the lingo, as evidenced on their intros to three bonus tracks totalling 35 minutes recorded at a period concert at Essen on this bonzer reissue of the band's second outing on United Artists.
Recorded back in the old country at Rockfield Studios in time snatched from the jaws of gigging, the album's more definedly 'progressive' than its predecessor, a uniquely quirky outing in country and krautrock, though equally kraud-pleasing.
More commercial in appeal, too, this nonetheless retains satisfyingly the experimentalism that hallmarked them from the mainstream of the day.
