JON ANDERSON 3 Ships Voiceprint (2008)
The voice of Yes, he with the high vocals, and like most Yes members he has frequently left the band to undertake solo projects.
Originally released in 1985, this festive / Christmas oriented set may sound cheesy but it does give you the full range of Anderson's voice, and features some bonus tracks too.
Opening with "Give Hope", we are also treated to "Save All Your Love", "Easier Said Than Done" and the title track. All with big production and sound effects, there are touches of Greg Lake's "I Believe In Father Christmas" without the orchestration. "3 Ships" does feature some programmed drums and plenty of keyboards, kind of adding a new wave / AOR feel to the festive melody.
"Candle Song" is more acoustic, and others more atmospheric. Then to break the mood, the overly festive "Ding Dong Merrily On High" wakes you up.
Many tracks I've never even heard of here, including "2000 Years" and "Forest Of Fire", but most will know "Jingle Bells".
Really for Anderson completists, otherwise it's 18 tracks of the pre-teen introduction for Yes Does Christmas.
