HOUSE OF LORDS Come To My Kingdom Frontiers (2008)

House Of Lords

Follow-up to the excellent 'World Upside Down' House Of Lords have kept to the moto 'if it ain't broke...', producing another album full of classic HOL sounding rockers and of course the ballads they do so well. Founding member vocalist James Christian is all that remains from the band's original line-up as unlike the last album keyboards king Gregg Giuffria is not listed in the credits. There is also a new bass player - Chris McCarville.

Some great tunes on here like the title track - big hook filled chorus and 'One Foot In The Dark' is a great melodic rocker. For the slower tempo 'I Need To Fly' is a wonderful mix of James Christian's vocals with laid abck soloing. 'Another Day From Heaven' is the big ballad (the European ediiton has an acoustic version of this track as a bonus), with pianos and harmonies to the fore - although you do hark after some real OTT keyboard flourishes from Greg Giuffria.

'I Don't Wanna Wait All Night' is a cracking rocker - superb chorus line in this little beauty. Overall another great album and sure to delight their fans. Not quite up to the last album as a song like 'One Touch' sounds a bit too familiar. But hey great to have HOL doing what they do best - melodic rock with big choruses and even better they are touring this year!
