CRIMES OF PASSION Crimes Of Passion Vigilante (2008)
This is the self-titled debut album from the Yorkshire rock band who have picked up quite a name for themselves since they formed in 2005.
The band is: singer Dale Radcliffe, guitarist Andy Lindsay, drummer Kev Tonge and bassist Simon Fearn. The album was mixed by It Bites vocalist John Mitchell and mastered by Tim Turan. 'Crimes Of Passion' is one of those albums that is essentially a familiar brand of rock, but given the type of voice Radcliffe has they will attract a young/teenage fan base.
Some of the guitars work really well but the problem is there is just nothing new here. It's an enjoyable release and songs like 'Where No-One Speaks Your Name' kick arse but parts of the album left me feeling a little cold and wanting more.
There are some good ideas here and they certainly show promise for better releases. I'd say they're on the right track - but there is still some way to go.
