CIRCULAR LOGIK One Artist Service/Music Buy Mail (2008)
Circular Logik is the new band formed by Phil Vincent (his other band Tragik released their cracking debut last year), who like fellow meldoic rock musician Steve Newman, keeps producing music close to his heart rather than compromise his sound to fit the latest musical tastes.
The Circular Logik musicians include two mainstays of his previous work, drummer Tane DeAngelis and guitarist Billy Roux. Overall the music on here is heavier than Tragik or Phil Vincent's solo output - check out the opening duo of 'Welcome Home' and 'Killing Me'. Both feature heavy drums and lots of guitars (these sound like a guitar choir such is their depth of sound).
'Your Time Has Come' is a classy hard rocker complete with a big chorus, one for fans of Journey and Def Leppard. Then you get the Led Zep tinged slow burner 'Right Here'. A lovely melody on this one and its pacing reminded me of Led Zep's 'Thank You'. Another musical avenue explored is a touch of Bad Company/Free blues rock 'You Make Me Weak', with some neat guitar playing.
There is even some pop rock at the end 'It's All Over', a nice breezy melody.
Another great piece of music from Phil Vincent which is possibly his best yet and certainly sees some of his heaviest songs to date. An immense slab of melodic hard rock simple as that and well worth adding to your collection.
