BRET MICHAELS Rock My World VH1 Classic Records (2008)
Due to Poison's annual summer tours over the last 8 or so years, and his lead role in two seasons of the hit VH1 show 'Rock Of Love', Bret Michaels has resurfaced in the public eye.
This new CD brings together 12 tracks from his, mostly over looked, solo career - from the opening numbers 'Go That Far' and 'Driven', which have an updated Poison style sound, to the Sum 41 feel of 'Bittersweet', the classic Poison balladry of 'Fallen' and the straight ahead rock of 'Strange Sensation', this album has a great feel.
The two songs that really stand out, for me, are the country style ballad 'All I Ever Needed' and the darker, heavier 'Right Now/Right Here'.
'Rock My World' will appeal to fans of both Poison and Bret Michaels, and will also act as an introduction to Michaels music for fans of 'Rock Of Love'.
