ALLIANCE Road To Heaven Escape Music (2008)
The band return with their third album and for those who are unfamiliar with the band they feature vocalist/bassist Robert Berry (Three/Ambrosia/Hush), guitarist Gary Pihl (Boston/Sammy Hagar), drummer David Lauser (Sammy Hagar) and on keyboards Alan Fitzgerald (ex-Night Ranger). So a band with a rich melodic rock background and this album is in my humble opinion their best yet.
Opener and title track is a certified melodic rock classic - big chorus and some wondrous keyboards/guitar interplay. 'I Can Breathe' sees the band produce a sprightly pop rocker whilst 'Make A Stand' is an enjoyable ballad.
Two quality melodic rock tunes, 'Broken Glass' and 'We Don't Talk' sound like Bad English, both in the music and the vocals of Robert Berry. 'Remember Those Days' sees Alan Fitzgerald's keys to the forefront and at six minutes is the band's 'epic' track! This song builds nicely and again the band has produced a high quality piece of music. Only a couple of songs fail to grab the listener with 'Not Done Till It's Done' being fairly pedestrian when compared to the other songs on here.
Fans of the band and certainly fans of Bad English will love this album and although they did two albums previously which were good in places, this album is more consistent and their best yet. All we need now is some live dates!
