VANISHING POINT The Fourth Season Dockyard 1 (2007)
Fourth album by the Australian based progressive meets power metal band. Musically and production wise they will appeal to fans of power and progressive metal especially Dream Theater, Dragonland and Symphony X.
The vocalist Silvio has a very melodic and emotive delivery which suits the overall music well and the real highlight is the closing song 'A Day Of Difference' which has lots going on musically and is one of those songs where you notice something new each time you hear it.
Elsewhere 'Surrender' (the single lifted off this album) and 'Hope Among The Heartless' prove strong, guitar led tunes. The only drawback is that on a few songs they sound to similar to other bands in this genre and the music tends to wash over you without sticking in your mind.
Certainly worth investigating if you like well played and produced progressive metal with a powerful edge to the guitar playing and sound.
