TESLA Shepherds Bush Empire, London 28 June 2007
Tesla hadn't played in the UK for 16 years and the Empire was packed for the
bands triumphant return. Supports act McQueen and Diamond Head
(unfortunately Fastway were replaced at the last minute for undisclosed
reasons!!) started the evening off - McQueen fresh from the previous weekends
Hyde Park Calling gig and Diamond Head in support of an about to be released
new album.
Tesla, opening with 'Cumin' Atcha Live', delivered a set which mixed classics such as 'Signs', 'Heavens Trail', 'Modern Day Cowboy' and 'Edisons
Medicine' with tracks from their 'Reel to Real' covers album, such as Led Zep's 'Thank You' and UFOs 'Rock Bottom'.
The band were bang on the money throughout and new guitarist Dave Rude comfortably filled the shoes of
original member Tommy Skeoch. The band apologised that they hadn't been to the UK for a while and promised to come back soon, fingers crossed they will
be.
