STORMZONE Caught In The Act Escape Music (2007)
Ah now this band conjure up the glory days of hard rock from the
likes of Whitesnake, Praying Mantis, Statetrooper and the 80's
version of Uriah Heep, along with more contemporary bands like Eden
and Double Eclipse. They even have a Rodney Matthews cover!
Opener 'Spellbound' hooks into your mind straight away and features
some cracking guitar, as does the whole album, courtesy of Keith
Harris. 'Nervous Breakdown' (again some very enjoyable guitar
soloing) and 'Crying In The Rain' both get the foot tapping, the
latter featuring some neat keyboard runs.
Vocalist John Harv Harbinson has a powerful set of lungs and matches the hard rock
bombast going on behind him and he does a decent ballad as well as
can be heard on 'Stranger Things Have Happened'.
You can tell he fronted a Whitesnake tribute band as the trademark Coverdale 'mmms'
and 'yeahs' come through on a couple of songs.
This is well played and crafted classic hard rock, nothing more
nothing less and fans of this style of music are in for a treat with
this little gem.
