JUDAS PRIEST Live In Concert 25 June 1980 Store For Music SFMCD038 (2007)
Previously only available as a widely-circulated bootleg, 'Live In Concert' features Priest in the USA on their 'British Steel' tour.
As this is the only available recording from this tour, it's a worthwhile purchase for collectors.
Recording-wise it's a little one-dimensional but that shouldn't deter the faithful.
Rob Halford's vocals are clear enough and it's pretty much Prime Time Priest, at a point when they were consolidating their commercial success. While it majors on 'British Steel' it includes a smattering of earlier greats such as 'Hell Bent For Leather', 'Victim Of Changes' and 'Genocide/Tyrant'. And it's rounded off with a great version of 'The Green Manalishi'.
With useful sleeve notes, this release finally gives an air of respectability to what should be a staple in every metal fan's collection. Priest fans will have swopped this years ago, though.
