JORN Live In America 2-CD, Frontiers (2007)
A double live album recorded at last year's US ProgPower festival makes this the third Jorn Lande release this year, following on from a covers and re-recorded 'best of' album. Jorn Lande has to be one of the best hard rock vocalists out there and he is very similar at times to David Coverdale – listening to 'Are You Ready' you'd think it was a Whitesnake song. Far few covers in the set including Thin Lizzy's 'Cold Sweat' and a five song Whitesnake medley, which focuses on the pre-'1987' days. Very good live sound throughout and Jorn is ably supported by his band with some very tasty guitar soloing throughout the set. Could do without the drum solo though…
Three bonus tracks include the updated version of 'Out To Every Nation' and the Black Sabbath covers 'Lonely Is The Word/Letters From Earth', both of which can be found on the two albums released earlier this year via Frontiers. There is also a bonus studio track 'Sacrificial Feelings'.
Great live set by one of hard rock's top vocal talents and if you have yet to sample the delights of Jorn Lande what are you waiting for!
