JOHN FOGERTY Revival Fantasy Records FCD-30001 (2007)
One of the finest songwriters of his generation, former Creedence Clearwater Revival front man John Fogerty has stated in recent interviews that he would be returning to the rock ‘n' roll sound of his previous band. The aptly named 'Revival' does just that- in fact, so much so that Creedence fans will greet this new album like an old friend.
From the opening chords of 'Don't You Wish It Was True' each of the 12 songs on this CD reaffirm Fogerty's status as a musical legend.
Highlights here include 'Gunslinger', the rock ‘n' roll swagger of 'Creedence Song', 'I Can't Take It No More' and the ballad-like 'Broken Down Cowboy'.
This CD does exactly what he wanted and if John Fogerty tours this collection, then get yourself a ticket- you won't be disappointed.
