EVIDENCE ONE The Sky Is The Limit AFM Records (2007)
A big change in the line-up as co-founder Robby Boebel has left the band and in comes in Jorg Wartmann on guitars, to join Wolfgang Schimmer. Fear not as the distinctive vocals of Cartsen 'Lizard' Schulz are still in the band!
Musically they carry on the tradition of hard hitting hard rock with a metal edge, with possibly a more metallic edge to the guitars on this album than previous albums.
'Mr. Madness' is a sure fire single -big chorus and they out do Helloween at their own game on this track! Then there is the slower 'Won't Sleep Alone' - one for fans of Gotthard.
The good thing about Evidence One is that they pen strong, melodic tunes but also manage to cram in lots of solos without losing the overall melody of any song. The album dips slightly towards the end and maybe another quick fire song like 'Mr. Madness' at the end of the CD would finish it on a high.
Existing fans relax as even though Robby Boebel has left the band have a more than adequate replacement and the music is as strong and powerful as ever. If you've not heard this band before and you like Gotthard give these guys a try now.
