AMERICAN DOG Hard Bad Reputation (2007)
This band define down and dirty rock 'n' roll! This new album gives fans exactly what they want - cracking hardrock/metal anthems from a three piece band who give Motorhead a run for their money! After a brief instrumental opener it is off all guitars blazing on 'No Pity' plus a tight rhythm section.
Next up is song title of the album - 'Sometimes You Eat The Pussy', err not a song about cats...but the album's ballad. Well as near as they get to one! 'Hypnotized' and 'Rock 'n' Roll Dog' are great rock songs, nothing more, nothing less.
The band do throw in some curveballs though with the extended acoustic guitar workout on 'Long Time Comin'. Vocalist/bassist Michael Hannon has lost none of his vocal power or enthusiasm in creating great rock songs.
If you have a Motorhead or AC/DC album(s) in your collection then do yourself a favour and get this or any other of the band's albums. You know what you're getting and it's well worth getting!
