ADRENALINE FACTOR Adrenaline Factor(2007)
Firmly into classic, no frills, guitar rock territory on this album, Adrenaline Factor feature former Dangerous Toys and Broken Teeth guitarist Paul Lidel alongside Big Balls' frontman and Bon Scott sound-a-like Lee Scott on vocals.
Opening track Ride is a short sweet slab of rock right out of the 70s whilst Wrong Number sounds so much like AC/DC that casual fans may be left thinking its an old b-side until the on the corny telephone conversation in the middle at least!
Whilst AC/DC is the obvious comparison to make with this band other influences are also evident as there is something of the late 80s sleaze rock feel in there on a number of tracks too.
Bad Habit has a nice bluesy groove to it, whilst there some excellent bottle-neck on No Warning and Hook Slide showing the band to be more than just mere copyists. Seven Beer Bitch displays great humour in its lyrics and its a mean shuffle as well adding more variation to the sound.
Album closer Goin' Nowhere has something special about it, very Deep Purple influenced its even got the heavy organ banging out an almost Smoke On The Water riff whilst its all capped off with a chorus of "You're goin' nowhere with me". Hopefully, with the right opportunities this band will be going somewhere and keep coming back again because this is too good to be a one album thing.
Although short at just under 40 minutes this is a cracking album of no-nonsense, in your face classic rock music.
