VINNIE MOORE Collection Mascot (2006)
Vinnie Moore rose to prominence as one of the many 80's guitar whiz kids mentored by Mike Varney and Shrapnel Records. Moore, unlike say OTT 'widdlers' like Malmsteen seemed more focussed on creating a melody, rather than seeing how many notes you can cram into a minute!
As a result your get a good variety on this collection that spans Moore's output up to 2001. The guests on the various tracks are pretty impressive, with fellow axeman Tony Macalpine (he plays keys on here though), drummers Shane Gaalas (Glen Hughes) and Tommy Aldridge (Ozzy/Whitesnake) plus ex-Rainbow keyboards player Dave Rosenthal.
Plenty to enjoy including 'Daydream' and the keys led 'Lifeforce'. In fact many of these tunes you could imagine with vocals on top.
A neat and concise introduction to Vinnie Moore's solo output and of definite interest to fans of UFO, the band Moore is in nowadays.
