VERTIGO 2 Frontiers (2006)
The follow-up to the debut album released back in 2003, Vertigo is
basically fromer Toto vocalist Joseph Williams. His co-partner Fabrizio
V.Zee Grossi is again the musical wizard playing bass and keys plus
producing the album. Virgil Donati handles drums (last seen in Soul SirkUS)
with Alex Masi on guitars. West Coast singer Jason Scheff (Chicago) pops up
on backing vocals on 'Hold Me'.
Musically it follows on from the debut with a sound mixing the Toto era
fronted by Williams with Survivor circa 'Too Hot To Sleep'. Opener 'In The
Blink Of An Eye' really gets the album off and running with a superb harmony
filled chorus.
Overall this is a much rockier affair with tunes like 'I Wanna
Live Forever' and 'All For You' rocking it up nicely. The only slight
annoyance is the 'tinny' drum sound but that's more personal taste as I
personally prefer a richer and deeper drum sound.
Along with the debut a real 'must have' for lovers of Toto, Survivor et al.
