TR3NITY Stripes Bar, Brentford FC Friday 25 February 2005
A new name to me and I was looking forward to hearing this UK based
progressive rock band who have already had two albums out via the Cyclops
label in Europe.
Whether you like progressive rock music or not you can’t
fault the sheer musicianship displayed by these bands and Tr3nity are no
exception. It’s a delight to hear and watch. For me the vocal/piano ‘Is
There A Paradise?’ and the epic ‘Into The Dark’ were highlights. Sound wise
they have hints of fellow UK bands like IQ and Jadis with a hint of Camel -
particularly in the guitar soloing. Vocalist Chris Campbell had a very
melodious voice and the keyboards of Paul Gath expand the band’s sound big
time. Very enjoyable gig and I bought their first album on the night (review
to follow!).
Tr3nity are well worth catching live of they play near to you and don’t
fear the ‘progressive’ tag. In fact the band certainly steer clears of the
classic prog rock sound of the 70’s and can easily appeal to fans of well
played and structured rock music.
