TIERRA SANTA ‘Indomable’ Locomotive Music (2003)
Spanish metal band, who have released four albums since forming in
1997. The line-up consists of vocalist/guitarist Angel, guitarist Arturo,
bass player Roberto and drummer Inak. Can’t tell you what is going on
lyrically as the band sing in their native language (and more power to them
for doing so!), but musically this hits the spot for Maiden/Priest fans!
There is the galloping metal of the title track and ‘Hamlet’ -very Helloween
in parts.
Slower numbers also work like ‘Quien Ilora Hoy Por Ti’, with its
brooding guitar riffs. Angel’s vocals are stepped in the classic metal
tradition, lots of power in the delivery and able to change tempo at the
drop of a hat. Saxon and Manowar fans will enjoy the battle tunes of ‘Coro
de Guerreros’ and ‘Las Walkinas’, complete with duelling guitars. ‘Las
Puertas del Infierno’ contains a very catchy chorus - a nice piece of
melodic metal.
Obviously a very talented metal band and they have the quality of songs
on this album to make a big impact.
