SYANIDE KICK ‘Syanide Kick’ Perris Records (2004)
Yet another band on Perris Records roster that are playing the retro glam
metal metal sound. Unlike Loud N Nasty, I can't find many kind things to say
about the self titled debut album from the aptly named, Syanide Kick.
Hollywood glam metal in the style of Poison, Bulletboys and Black n Blue,
but nowhere near in the class of those bands. Obviously recorded on a tight
budget, never the less with technology as it is this days and the high
standard of home recording equipment, the sound on offer here, is quite poor
and screams low budget.
After the obligatory short 37 second intro, it's 38 minutes of 10 totally
unmemorable songs, that with the exception of the acoustic balled,
'Tonight', seem to blend into one another. I can't think of one song, or a
single chorus that sticks out and cannot recall any hooks, guitar riffs,
anything for listening to Syanide Kick.
All I can say about this is, if this is your thing it's just on average
and for people like me, it's a totally forgettable album.
