SURRENDER ‘Surrender’ Escape Music (2004)
This album first saw the light of day back in 1979 and this Canadian band
featured the multi-talented Alfie Zappacosta. It is a pure AOR album, chock
full of melodies and plenty of keyboard fills, although even after repeated
plays some songs seem a tad generic. However, ‘Anyway You Want’ and ‘Nicole’
are well worth a listen as prime examples of classy AOR from the late
70’s/early 80’s. With this release you also get the 1982 EP ‘No Surrender’,
where ’It’s All Been Done Before’ is a real AOR classic tune. If that wasn’t
enough there are also wasn’t enough there are eight unreleased tracks added
here including ‘Find Your Way’ is a real gem of a tune - very Journey
sounding.
With twenty tracks on the CD Escape are giving real VFM and
collectors/fans of AOR should add this to their collections.
